Work Yesterdae

Work yesterdae basically... sucked a little. Went shopping with baby in the afternoon at Orchard. Received a call from 'Picture Me' asking me to go over to Shangri-La Hotel instead of Novena station. I asked them where was Shangri-La and the person told me i could walk from Orchard. So i figured it should be walking distance and din bother much until about 5pm and i realised that Shangri-La is NOT walking distance from Orchard! In fact, i think i would have reached there at 7pm if i walked! Stupid woman..

Thank god i had the other person's number and i called her, onli to find out dat she didn't noe how to get to Shangri-La either so she'll be taking a cab down. In the end, i very 'thick-skined-ly' called the boss to and ask if he could pick me up. SO he came down to Lucky Plaza and picked me up in his nice mercedes which i tot would be a lorry. ahAHAH....

We den drove around for about half an hour, picking groups up to other events, picking up the lab tops, backdrops etc etc. We reached Shangri-La the exact time the event started. It was a dinner and the theme was Peranakan Wedding so everyone there was dressed beautifully in traditional Peranakan dresses.

The stupidest thing abou this event is the coordinator of that event had 2 stupid stands (whereby people can put their face in the holes of the stands) of 2 traditional wedding with a stupid and scary girl in the middle, in black and white. How stupid is that? Everyone was dresses in nice traditional costumes and all the event coordinator want was for us to take their FACES?!?! If the stand was a nice one then it wouldn't have been a problem. The problem is that the stand is fucking scary and disgusting! And they provided a GOLD backdrop for us. WTH?! Its the stupidest thing ever! NO ONE wanted to take any pics until we decided to get rid of 1 stand then people started taking their pictures.

Then at 7pm, my boss tapped me and told me we had another event to rush to. So we left and headed for the funny place near MediaCorp. Till now, i still have no idea where i was exactly except that there were a lot of horses there. The event was called RDA and the theme there was 'Out of Africa'. So naturally, the place was decorated to look like Africa. I tell u! There was no lights for they had fire torches along the way and since there was fire torches, there had to be NO fans. The floor was laid with disgusting leaves which look like there were cockroaches hidden beneath them. It was disgusting.

So there i was, alone with one patheic photographer to coordinate the entire photo taking session by ourselves. The worst thing, and to my horror, was that there was onli one pen in the stationery bag. U can imagine me, holding a folder, a pen, one whole stack of card, hair in a total mess, trying to get people to register before they go running off. The registration process was so slow as i onli had one pen and i needed the pen, so does the people who took to fotos. We looked so stupid passing the pen here and there. There was NO chair for me to sit on, the entire pathetic table was filled with the cameras, wires, bags, printers i had no space to sit and write. Thank god that event was for caucasians. I didn't think Singaporeans would be as patient and as appreciative as them.

Anyway, the chaos ended at 8.45pm. It was then John sent another photographer and another coordinate to help us. I felt it was pointless as the event had already begun and no one wanted to take anymore pictures. Stupid. By the time we waited for John to pick us up, it was already 11pm. The 4 of us just sat there and rotted for 2 hours.

I almost died coordinating the 2 events while our dear qiuying, get to enjoy herself in a totally air-conditioned environment, with loads of handsome Prudential guys and graduates. Talk about life being unfair.
